Keyword Insights changelog

Latest features and improvements

We’ve shipped quite a lot across Keyword Insights over the last few weeks.

Some new features, some improvements, and a lot of work behind the scenes to make things faster and more reliable.

See the sources behind Google AI Overviews

The SERP Analyzer now shows which sources Google is citing inside AI Overviews, alongside where those same sources rank organically.

This makes it much easier to spot interesting opportunities. If Google is citing a page that ranks low organically, or doesn’t rank at all, that could be a content gap worth investigating.

We’ve also cleaned up the SERP Analyzer with a much simpler single page layout.

Keyword Discovery is now available through the API

You can now run Keyword Discovery entirely through the Keyword Insights API.

This includes creating orders, checking their status, retrieving results and accessing supported languages and locations.

If you’re building your own tools, scripts or automations around Keyword Insights, you now have much more control.

Ahrefs Domain Rating across Keyword Insights

We’ve replaced Moz Domain Authority with Ahrefs Domain Rating across the platform.

You’ll now see Ahrefs DR inside Content Briefs, SERP tools and other areas where we display domain authority data.

We’ve also retired Page Authority.

Writer Agent articles now open instantly

Finished Writer Agent articles now open directly in the editor without waiting for the content to load and process first.

Articles created through the API will also now appear correctly inside the editor.

More accurate clustering estimates

We’ve completely rebuilt how clustering time estimates work using real historical order data.

Around 98% of clustering orders now finish within the time shown, and those ridiculously large estimates that occasionally appeared on bigger orders should be gone.

Fewer failed orders

We’ve done quite a bit of work behind the scenes to make orders more resilient when external data providers have temporary issues.

Failed keywords are automatically retried, Content Briefs can fall back to another data source, and a single problematic item should no longer cause an entire order to fail.

Basically fewer failed orders.

More control over emails

You can now turn weekly progress emails on or off directly from Account → Email preferences.

Lots of smaller fixes

We’ve also fixed a bunch of smaller issues across the platform:

  • Google Search Console Keyword Discovery orders getting stuck in processing

  • Errors when reconnecting an existing Google account

  • XLSX spreadsheet exports

  • Google Drive export error handling

  • Missing Domain Rating data

  • API access after upgrading your plan

  • Dashboard loading performance

  • Workspace order creation errors

  • Team invitation flows

  • WordPress publishing error messages

  • Yearly plan renewal reminder emails

A lot of our recent work has been focused on making the foundations of Keyword Insights faster and more reliable while continuing to ship useful features on top of it.

We’re back to shipping regularly now. Plenty more coming.
